What is Muck Away?

Muck away or spoil away is the removal of waste from a construction site during earthwork operations.

What are the different types of Muck Away?

Hazardous Waste is waste that is deemed to be unsafe for humans and the environment. Hazardous waste could come in the form of asbestos, heavy metals, solvent, invasive plants such as Japanese Knotweed or pesticides. 

Non-Hazardous Waste is material that contains low levels of heavy metals, hydrocarbons, PAH or TPH contamination which can be released from the material. This waste should not cause any harm to the environment or people's health but it does need to be handled correctly. The chosen disposal site will have to assess the material against it's waste acceptance guidelines in order to confirm that it isn't hazardous. Non-hazardous muck must be disposed of at a permitted site.

Inert Waste can be described as clean. It does not under go any significant physical, chemical or biological changes. Inert waste will not inflict harm on people's health or the environment. Inert material examples could be brick, concrete, clean soils and sub soil. All inert materials can be disposed of at our local inert waste disposal facilities in the Worcestershire and Gloucestershire areas.

How is the Waste removed?

Tipper trucks are very useful for removing large quantities of muck with just one load. The tippers are loaded with a digger or an excavator before it is taken to the designated tip.

Our fleet of 17 x 8 wheeled Tipper Trucks are available to hire for all of the above waste removals.
